David takes a very analytical approach to coaching and works with power data and other information to work closely with you to determine the best course of action on a weekly basis for each athlete. With coaching services to suit a range of goals and abilities, from high performance triathletes and cyclists to Ironman athletes to everyday age group cyclists and triathletes wanting to get the most out of their training, David can help you. He is highly knowledgeable about everything to do with coaching to get the maximum from yourself without wasting hours doing it, Speed Theory has the experience and expertise to do so.

TRIATHLON AND CYCLING COACHING
Teresa Adam
David has coached Teresa for a number of years now and while she holds a vast array of wins to her name in the Ironman scene, including being the Asia Pacific Ironman Champion as well as 2020 Pro Female Taupo Ironman winner. She also Time Trialed her way to the win in the National Elite Road Cycling Championships individual TT proving her strength over the shorter distances too, as well as holding her own on the undulating road race course for 3rd overall.
Sophie Corbidge
As a member of the NZ MTR triathlon squad, Sophie has had success over short distance triathlon throughout the span of her career over the past decade. Competing at World Championships, ITU World Triathlon Series and national events, Sophie often found herself restrained from training with injury and approached David 3 years ago for advice and coaching to put an end to a long stint of niggles. Ever since, she has gone from strength to strength, with her most recent success including a bronze in the Elite Women at the Oceania Triathlon Championships in Devonport, AUS in March and a win in the National Duathlon Championships in Auckland in August. Sophie has her eyes set on Tokyo 2021 and David has high hopes to help get her there.
Hayden McCormick
Hayden is a current member of Black Spokes Pro Cycling Team, he has been fitted and coached by David for a number of years successively often based in Girona, Spain for majority of his calendar year. An avid challenge seeker, he recently competed in the Transiberica Ultracycling 700km gravel event in Spain with over 16,000m of climbing, finishing in 2nd place in 59 hours adding an extra 40km due to navigational issues. Hayden has been an integral senior member of many development cycling teams within New Zealand and overseas but has ambitions to make the World Tour Peloton within the upcoming years.
Age Group Athletes
David also coaches a number of age group cyclists and triathletes for half Ironman and Ironman distances all looking to reach their potential within their chosen sporting endeavors. By providing his athletes with detailed personalised training programmes in combination with feedback and communication with from athletes, everything is customised to fit your training around the various commitments you may have.
